They choose something that has some good pictures and naturally draw attention to a particular group of people. <br/><br/>But they need not worry about what they do. After a career spent building the business from the harshest of the plan, his latest project, Lovin &#8216;Goodies-a production hub for organic food, follows the same pattern as his other companies and has grown rapidly with a strong commitment. His love of food, in his adult life, he started his own catering business soon after high school and meet for concert artists like David Bowie, Kiss and Aerosmith . Creativity of all kinds will come naturally. He studied to be a fashion designer at Wayne State University while working on the Hyatt Regency, which he has received training in food service. But who wants something &#8220;non-qualified?&#8221; Want a &#8220;non-qualified&#8221; doctor, lawyer or accountant? Worse agree on compensation. Some people want to work today and get paid for five years? The problem is non-qualified deferred compensation is a good idea, it just has an ugly name. Non-qualified deferred compensation (NQDC) is a powerful retirement planning tool, especially for owners of closely held companies (in this article I will only deal with &#8220;C&#8221; corporations). NQDC plans are not eligible for two things, and some income tax benefits granted to qualified pension plans and worker protection provisions of the Employee Retirement income Security Act (ERISA). What NQDC plans offer flexibility. Great gobs of flexibility. Flexibility is something qualified plans, after decades of Congressional tinkering, is missing. The loss of some benefits tax and ERISA rules may seem a very small price to pay when considering the many benefits of NQDC plan. A NQDC plan is a written contract between the corporate employer and employee. The contract includes work and the compensation is determined in the future. The NQDC agreement gives employees unsecured promises of employers to pay their future benefits in exchange for services today. The future promised benefits can be in one of three general types. Some NQDC plan resembles the plan benefits they promise to pay the employee a fixed dollar amount or a percentage of salary for a period after retirement. Another type of NQDC resembles a defined contribution plan. A fixed amount that goes on &#8220;employee account&#8221; each year, sometimes through voluntary salary deferrals, and the employee is entitled to the account balance at retirement. The final form of NQDC plan provides a death benefit of designated beneficiaries of employees. The main advantage to NQDC is flexibility. To NQDC plans, the employer can discriminate freely. The employer may choose among the employees, including himself, and benefit only a select few. The employer can treat different selection. The benefit promised need not follow all the rules associated with qualified plans (eg $ 44,000 for 2006) annual limit on contributions to defined contribution plans).
